We’re back and discussing something you probably didn’t think would’ve made a comeback in the last few years...perms!

Popular for many reasons, GLYNT has a variety of options so you can achieve effortlessly stylish waves and curls, whether you're after a pH-Neutral or Alkaline lotion...

So, if your client wants to add volume to their natural hair, add curl to their coloured hair, or even wants more texture added to their blonde...We’ve got just the right solutions for you! (Pun very much intended!)

Introducing...BI PHAS NEUTRAL

A pH-neutral waving lotion that gently reshapes the hair to create elastic, bouncy waves without causing damage. There are 3 to choose from, so let’s break down which client each lotion is suitable for and how you would use it!

For clients who have naturally resistant hair, or hair that is difficult to wave, we would recommend BI PHAS NEUTRAL 0+

For clients with normal to fine natural hair, we would recommend BI PHAS NEUTRAL 1+

For clients who have highlights, colour or have previously had a perm, we would recommend BI PHAS NEUTRAL 2+

So how do you use it?!

After washing the hair with GLYNT Volume Shampoo, carefully squeeze out any excess water using a towel, and if the hair is porous, apply Hydro Care Spray before rolling.

Heads up...If your client is extra sensitive, you can apply Derma E.F.A Lotion without any changes or effects to the service!

Some time later...

Once you’ve rolled all the hair in perm rods, you’re ready to mix your desired lotion. Don’t forget to wear gloves!!

Did you know that the term ‘bi-phase’ means 2 parts...This is where we get mixing!

BI PHAS requires Phase 1 base lotion containing the alkalising agent and Phase 2 Activator, which contains the reducing agent. We recommend gently turning the bottle to mix, rather than shaking it! Both phases need to be mixed together immediately before use, and any leftovers should be disposed of.

We recommend the following processing times as a guideline, depending on which lotion you’re using:

BI PHAS 0+ / 1+

15-22 minutes.

The result can be checked with a test curl, wearing new gloves.

If needed, the processing time can be extended by up to 5 extra minutes.

PRO Tip: If heat is applied under a hood-dryer, use a plastic cap; if heat isn't applied, there is no need for a plastic cap during processing.

BI PHAS 2+

12-16 Minutes.

The result can be checked with a test curl, wearing new gloves.

If needed, the processing time can be extended by up to 5 extra minutes.

Applying heat is not recommended.

Once processed, it’s time to rinse and neutralise!

Once rinsed thoroughly and the excess moisture is blotted dry, mix 50ml BI PHAS FIX at a 1:1 ratio with 50ml of warm water.

Apply 75ml or 3/4 of the Fixing mixture to the rollers and process for 5 minutes, then remove the rollers without stretching the hair, and apply the remaining neutraliser. You can then process for 5 minutes. Once you’ve done this, you can rinse and style!

Pro Tip: You can apply Revital Care Spray as a final step and leave-in!

So... that’s our first option...what if you’re after a mild alkaline perm??? Drumroll please...

Welcome...TRI PERM Sensitive

A mild-alkaline perm lotion that creates bouncy curls and dynamic waves while gently preserving the hair’s natural structure. And there's TRI (3) to choose from!

For clients who have resistant, natural or very long hair, we would recommend TRI PERM Sensitive Soft 0

For clients who have normal to fine, natural hair, we would recommend TRI PERM Sensitive Soft 1

For client who have highlights, colour or have previously permed their hair, we recommend TRI PERM Sensitive Soft 2

So how do you use it?! We repeat the following:

After washing the hair with GLYNT Volume Shampoo, carefully squeeze out any excess water using a towel, and if the hair is porous, apply Hydro Care Spray before rolling.

If your client is extra sensitive, you can apply Derma E.F.A Lotion without any interference with the service.

Once you’ve rolled all the hair in perm rods, you’re ready to apply your desired lotion. Don’t forget to wear gloves!!

Does anyone else have Deja Vu?!

BUT there is a difference...

Tri Perm Sensitive is ready-to-use and does not need to be mixed. Don't shake, but turn the bottle several times to evenly mix the ready-made lotion. Any leftover lotion can be sealed tightly and used again the next day.

We recommend the following processing times as a guideline, depending on which lotion you’re using:

TRI PERM Sensitive Soft 0 / 1

18-22 Minutes

The result can be checked with a test curl, wearing new gloves.

If needed, the processing time can be extended by up to 5 extra minutes.

PRO Tip: If heat is applied under a hood-dryer, use a plastic cap; if heat isn't applied, there is no need for a plastic cap during processing.

TRI PERM Sensitive 2

12-16 Minutes

The result can be checked with a test curl, wearing new gloves.

If needed, the processing time can be extended by up to 5 extra minutes.

Applying heat is not recommended.

Once the processing time is complete, rinse the hair thoroughly with warm water, leaving the perm rods in, and carefully blot dry before completing the Neutralisation stage, which is exactly the same as before...so scroll up so we don’t have to repeat ourselves again!

Just FYI...When completing any chemical service...Always read the small print!

The instructions are provided with each lotion for you to swat up on, but we would always re-iterate that perms are for professional use only and we wouldn’t want to touch hair that’s been coloured with henna or colour containing metallic hair dyes...as well as the obvious, not completing a perm service if the skin on the scalp is broken or if there are any skin conditions on the scalp! You can find any extra info in the box!

But what’s the difference between the 2 lotions I hear you ask?

TRI PERM Sensitive is a mildly alkaline, ready-to-use lotion, which is softer than BI PHAS, which needs to be mixed with an activator, is a pH-neutral lotion and is slightly stronger.

And there you have it! Perms for every hair type, condition, length and desire! What’s not to love?!
